The importance of a good business card design

We believe that a business card is one of the most important bits of marketing that you need to get right. It is the first impression of you and if you hand over a card that is flimsy, poorly designed and has no thought, how can someone you want to do business with take you seriously, if you do not take yourselves seriously.

I went to a networking meeting where your business card design needs to stand out from the crowd. I met 2 different accountancy companies which had the same card but just different names and addresses, how can I take them seriously when they spend £5 on a vista print card and look the same as all other accountancies, they may be cheaper than the average company but is my tax going to be calculated correctly?
